Now, fill out the form. The first box is your member name. This name will become the name of your web address, ie; http:// Membername.tripod.com

The name you pick does not have to be the title of your web site, but can be. With 50Mb of space to work with, you will actually have the ability to create several sites with this account. One site will be your base site, and all the others will be accessed through an address such as,

http:// Membername.tripod.com/secondsite

http:// Membername.tripod.com/thirdsite

second and third, being the title of those sites.

Tip: Short member names are easy for others to remember, and type.

Availability of a name is subject to whether or not, someone else, in the lycos system has chosen it or not. This means that if you finish the form, and click the submit button, and the form comes back up...look for the reason why the form did not go through...most likely being the member name. If this is the case...lycos will offer you some alternatives, including the option to chose a completly different name.
